He married Lillie Belle McLean June 20, 1906. Lillie was born in Lawrenceburg, Lawrence Co., TN July 31, 1887. Lillie was the daughter of John Lilburn McLean and Eudora Isabella Richardson Carter. At 20 years of age Lillie became the mother of Brownie M. Appleton in Lawrenceburg, Lawrence Co., TN, January 6, 1908.

At 24 years of age Noah became the father of Brownie M. Appleton in Lawrenceburg, Lawrence Co., TN, January 6, 1908.

Noah Mitchell Appleton and Lillie Belle McLean had the following child:

2 i. Brownie M.² Appleton was born in Lawrenceburg, Lawrence Co., TN January 6, 1908. She married George Miller Watkins August 12, 1928. George was born May 15, 1907.
