1. Claude Chester¹ Cowan was born October 8, 1890.

He married Margaret Minerva Hays in Columbia, Maury Co, TN, June 25, 1919. Margaret was born in Columbia, Maury Co, TN September 11, 1895. Margaret was the daughter of Samuel Alexander Hays D.D.S. and Elizabeth Norris Webb. Margaret died October 5, 1996 at 101 years of age. Her body was interred October 7, 1996 Mt. Olivet. Buried next to her husband following graveside services at 2:00 p.m. Mt. Olivet Funeral Home was in charge of services.

At 25 years of age Margaret became the mother of Claude Chester Cowan Jr. January 9, 1921. At 27 years of age Margaret became the mother of Rev. John Webb Cowan in Columbia, Maury Co, TN, September 16, 1922. At 29 years of age Margaret became the mother of Robert Hays Cowan July 28, 1925.

At 30 years of age Claude became the father of Claude Chester Cowan Jr. January 9, 1921. At 31 years of age Claude became the father of Rev. John Webb Cowan in Columbia, Maury Co, TN, September 16, 1922. At 34 years of age Claude became the father of Robert Hays Cowan July 28, 1925.

Claude Chester Cowan and Margaret Minerva Hays had the following children:

+ 2 i. Claude Chester² Cowan Jr. (still alive).

+ 3 ii. Rev. John Webb Cowan (still alive).

+ 4 iii. Robert Hays Cowan was born July 28, 1925.
