1. Alfred Algood¹ Carlen was born January 27, 1887. Alfred died May 8, 1975 at 88 years of age. His body was interred 1975 in Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN, City Cemetery.

He married Elizabeth Reams Cox. Elizabeth was born in Theta, Maury Co., TN September 27, 1889. Elizabeth died February 14, 1980 in Shelbyville, Bedford Co., TN, at 90 years of age. Her body was interred 1980 in Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN, City Cemetery. At 31 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Elizabeth Reams Carlen in Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN, November 13, 1920.

At 33 years of age Alfred became the father of Elizabeth Reams Carlen in Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN, November 13, 1920.

Alfred Algood Carlen and Elizabeth Reams Cox had the following children:

2 i. Margaret Alice² Carlen. She married Dave Maddux. Dave became the father of Alice Maddux in Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN, September 28, 1948. (See Dave Maddux for the continuation of this line.)
