She married Daniel Lucius (D.L.) Townes. Daniel was born in Scott Co., MO September 11, 1885. Daniel was the son of Lucius Aurelius Townes and Amanda Jane Adams. Daniel died April 15, 1960 in Shelbyville, Bedford Co., TN, at 74 years of age. At 29 years of age Daniel became the father of George Aurelius Townes in St. Louis, MO, September 19, 1914. At 20 years of age Gladys became the mother of George Aurelius Townes in St. Louis, MO, September 19, 1914.
