1. Halcott¹ Townes was born in Appomatox River, Amelia Co., VA February 22, 1765. Halcott died 1803 in Pittsylvania Co., VA, at 38 years of age.

He married Anney Coleman. Anney was born in Pittsylvania Co., VA May 26, 1772. Anney died August 8, 1796 in Pittsylvania Co., VA, at 24 years of age. At 18 years of age Anney became the mother of George Coleman Townes in Danville, VA, May 10, 1791. At 24 years of age Anney became the mother of Stephen Coleman Townes in Pittsylvania Co., VA, August 4, 1796.

At 26 years of age Halcott became the father of George Coleman Townes in Danville, VA, May 10, 1791. At 31 years of age Halcott became the father of Stephen Coleman Townes in Pittsylvania Co., VA, August 4, 1796.

Halcott Townes and Anney Coleman had the following children:

2 i. Edward² Townes.

3 ii. Robert Townes.

+ 4 iii. George Coleman Townes was born May 10, 1791.

+ 5 iv. Stephen Coleman Townes was born August 4, 1796.
