Jan became the father of Maria van Arkel in Arkel, Zuld-Holland, Netherlands, about 1389.

Jan Heer van Arkel and Jananina Princess of Julich had the following child:

2 i. Maria van² Arkel was born in Arkel, Zuld-Holland, Netherlands about 1389. Maria died July 19, 1415 at 26 years of age. She married Jan II Heer Van Egmond in Arkel, Zuld-Holland, Netherlands. Jan was born in Slot O D Hoef, Egmond-Binnen, Noord-Holland, Netherlands about 1385. Jan was the son of Arend van Egmond and Ijsseldtein and Jalanthe Countess of Leiningen. Jan died January 4, 1450/51 in Egmond-Binnen, Noord-Holland, Netherlands, at 65 years of age. At 24 years of age Jan became the father of Arnold Duke of Guelders in Slot, O D Hoef, Egmond-Binnen, Noord-Holland, Netherlands, 1409. At 20 years of age Maria became the mother of Arnold Duke of Guelders in Slot, O D Hoef, Egmond-Binnen, Noord-Holland, Netherlands, 1409.
